The record
A crowded rhythm section -- two bassists, extra hand percussion, thumb piano -- thickens the frame around Gilmore's tenor and Hubbard's brass. The writing turns denser and more abstract than Hill's earlier dates for the label.

Pressings
The earliest on file is a 1967 US mono, BLP 4217, with the stereo BST 84217 issued the same year carrying an RVG stamp. Neither mono row lists a Plastylite ear or deep groove, so judge these on labels and dead wax rather than on a marker checklist. Blue Note repressed the stereo through 1974, and no audiophile edition appears on file, which makes a clean early stereo the realistic target.
