A full band stands behind the tenor: three trumpets in Ernie Royal, Joe Newman and Russell Jacquet, Matthew Gee on trombone, Cecil Payne on baritone and Frank Foster as second tenor, with Milt Buckner moving between piano and organ. Al Lucas plays Fender electric bass and Al Foster drums, so the rhythm section sits in 1969 while the book reaches back to "After Hours" and "St. Louis Blues." Prestige PRST 7629.
