The record
Fresh off the Coltrane quartet's rhythm section, Tyner turns to the Ellington songbook with Garrison and Jones locked in, while added Latin percussion gives these standards an unexpected, loosening swing.

Pressings
The earliest on file is the 1965 US Impulse! mono, A-79; the stereo AS-79 from the same year is the better-documented copy, listed with a Van Gelder stamp, a laminated sleeve and the gatefold jacket. Canada got both in 1965 as well, the stereo as A-79-S. US stereo repressings run from 1968 through 1974, most still stamped. For a clean modern copy, Impulse!'s 1997 180g gatefold, IMP-216, is the one to look for.
