The record

A rare big-band outing for Morgan, stacking Shorter and Henderson's tenors beside Woods' alto and Tyner's harmony inside Tom McIntosh's arrangements. Recorded mid-decade with the Sidewinder success behind him, it finds the trumpeter stretching into richer, brass-heavy textures without losing his hard-bop snap.

Pressings

We hold no original-era LP for this title. The only pressing on file here is a 1985 US Blue Note, BST 84243, a remastered stereo reissue on the original catalogue number -- a mid-eighties repress, not an early copy. Nothing in our data establishes what an early pressing of this record looks like, so do the lineage work elsewhere before you spend on one.
