Two rhythm sections and two drummers give this date its shifting textures, Byrd's brass paired against blues-drenched themes and easy swing. Barry Harris and Hancock split the piano chair on sessions cut the same day.

Pressings
Both 1965 configurations are here: the stereo BST-84186, earliest on file, and the mono BLP 4186, each with an RVG stamp and a Plastylite ear. The 1966 and 1967 repressings keep the stamp and lose the ear -- All Disc and serrated-edge variants among them. Japan's 1983 K18P-9238 is a limited reissue, and Blue Note's 180-gram ST 84186 has been pressed in 2015 and 2023.
