Pepper Adams' baritone adds low-end heft beneath Byrd's clean, unhurried lines, Hancock's chords still finding their footing just ahead of his own Blue Note debut. Higgins and Warren keep the groove loose without losing its bite.

Mono BLP 4101 is the earliest pressing on file, with an RVG stamp; the 1961 stereo BST 84101 is the richer copy on paper -- deep groove both sides, RVG stamp, Plastylite ear, laminated sleeve.
