The record
Hubbard's fourth Blue Note date pairs him with Shorter's angular tenor and the rare warmth of McKinney's euphonium, an unusual front-line color that gives these hard-bop charts extra depth. Tyner and Elvin Jones bring the same simmering drive they were forging with Coltrane that same year.
