Don Sebesky's woodwinds and strings wrap around the horn like a second arrangement, bassoon and cello threading through Hubert Laws' flute lines. DeJohnette keeps a heartbeat under all that gloss, proof the crossover era had teeth.

Pressings
The earliest on file is a 1971 US CTI 6013, stereo gatefold with an RVG stamp, and the real interest is plant variation -- Pitman, Terre Haute and Santa Maria copies are all listed for that year, the Santa Maria adding a laminated sleeve. Japan issued SR-3322 in 1972 and GP-3094 in 1977, both gatefolds with the Van Gelder stamp. For a modern pressing, ORG Music did a numbered 180-gram ORGM-2006 in 2014.
