A compilation drawing from Evans's late-50s Riverside dates, anchored by the hushed, vamping title track that grew almost by accident from a "Some Other Time" rehearsal take. Hearing him here alongside Chambers, Philly Joe Jones, Hall and others shows the introspective touch he'd soon bring to his own trio.
