The record
Quincy Jones's big-band charts wrap Washington's voice in plush, brass-heavy arrangements, the deep saxophone bench (Thompson, Richardson, McKusick) giving her room to swing and ache in equal measure. One of her final Mercury dates, cut as the label's golden era with her was winding down.
