The record

Webster Young out front on cornet, with Paul Quinichette's tenor beside him and Mal Waldron at the piano, Joe Puma on guitar, Earl May and Ed Thigpen in the rhythm section. The program runs to torch songs and heartbreak -- 'Good Morning Heartache,' 'Don't Explain,' 'Strange Fruit.' Reid Miles designed the sleeve and Esmond Edwards shot it; Van Gelder cut the lacquer. Prestige 7106, 1957.
