The record
Congas, bongos and timbales join the working pianist's bebop lines, an Afro-Cuban infusion cut for Prestige well before the jazz-Latin vogue caught on. Percussionists Mangual, Smith and Nieto give the date a hand-drum density rare for 1953.
Session personnel
- Earl May — bass
- Jose Mangual — bongos
- Charlie Smith — congas
- Percy Brice — drums
- Billy Taylor — piano
