The record

Oliver Nelson wrote the charts and conducted, which puts Stanley Turrentine's tenor in front of a brass and reed section stacked with Clark Terry, Snooky Young, J.J. Johnson and Phil Woods. Herbie Hancock, Kenny Burrell, Bob Cranshaw and Grady Tate work the rhythm. Blue Note BLP 4201, 1965; 'River's Invitation' opens it and 'A Taste Of Honey' sends it out.

Pressings

The earliest we list is the 1965 US mono, BLP 4201, with a deep groove and an RVG stamp. Stereo of that year runs under 84201 -- one copy with New York USA labels, one with a deep groove on side one only. From 1966 the number becomes BST 84201, which then covers reissues for decades, including a 1985 DMM remaster. Check the stamp and the groove, not the sleeve.

Showing the first pressing, audiophile reissues and copies carrying a collector marker, out of 30 pressings on file.
