The record
Three leaders' worth of material gathered on one Prestige compilation: Stitt's tenor, Bud Powell and John Lewis splitting the piano chair, J.J. Johnson's trombone, with Max Roach on drums and Curly Russell and Nelson Boyd sharing bass duties. Alternate takes of 'Fine And Dandy' and 'Blue Mode' sit next to the masters, which is the real draw. Rudy Van Gelder remastered. PRLP 7024, 1956.
