The record
Live trio dates at Chicago's After Hours sessions found her stripped of orchestral gloss, just Bright, Davis, and Haynes framing that instrument at its most conversational and unguarded. A late-night, intimate document of a singer who rarely worked this small a room on record.
Session personnel
- Richard Davis — bass
- Roy Haynes — drums
- Ronnell Bright — piano
- Frank Wess — tenor saxophone
- Henry Coker — trombone
- Thad Jones — trumpet
- Wendell Culley — trumpet
