The record
Cut during Philly Joe's late-'60s London stint, this session finds the Miles/Trane rhythm powerhouse driving a sharp UK sextet-plus-brass lineup including Kenny Wheeler and Harold McNair. A rare document of the American bebop drummer's expatriate years, loose and hard-swinging on Black Lion.
