The record
Caught mid-transition, this Scandinavian broadcast finds the trumpeter's late-'50s rhythm section -- Kelly, Chambers, Cobb -- paired with Sonny Stitt filling the alto chair Cannonball had vacated. Stitt's harder-edged bebop attack makes for a fascinating counterpoint to the sighing lyricism Miles built his book around.
