Pressings

The cover is the tell here. The earliest on file is the 1957 US Columbia mono CL 1041 with the sailboat cover and a deep groove, listed from the Hollywood, Bridgeport and Terre Haute plants. By the 1961 repress the sleeve had become the portrait cover, and stereo only arrives that year, as the CS 8633 reissue rather than a parallel original. The UK had Fontana TFL 5007 from 1958. Our data holds no audiophile cut -- the newest thing in it is the 2013 DOL 180 gram mono gatefold.
