The record
A West Coast summit session pairing bebop's foremost drummer with Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse crew, Roach and Levey trading the traps while Rosolino, Candoli, Perkins and Cooper stretch out over Rumsey's charts. Liberty's 1957 date catches the era's hard-swinging Pacific jazz scene at full strength.
