The record
Brass carries this session further into hard-bop territory than most of the organist's Blue Note dates, with Lee Morgan and Julian Priester fattening the front line beside Bennie Maupin's tenor. Sparks and Morris keep the rhythm lean and taut underneath.

The earliest row we hold is the 1969 US Blue Note BST-84313, stereo, in a gatefold. A 1973 US reissue carries the same BST-84313 number, so the catalog number will not separate the two -- go by labels. Later still is the 2009 Scorpio pressing, numbered BLP 4313 and gatefold again: a cheap way to hear the record, not a copy to chase.
