The record
A teenage trumpeter announces himself with startling poise, Hank Mobley's tenor and Hank Jones' piano lending seasoned support just as Blue Note began building its hard bop bench. Cut in late '56, it's a first chapter that already hints at the brassy confidence Morgan would carry through the rest of the decade.

The earliest pressing on file here is the 1956 US Savoy MG-12091, mono with a deep groove, an RVG stamp and a laminated sleeve -- that is the copy to hunt.
