The record
A bossa nova session cut for Verve at the height of the craze, pairing Schifrin's piano with a reed section stacked with Phil Woods, Al Cohn, and Jerome Richardson. Jimmy Raney's guitar and Ben Tucker's bass keep it loose and unhurried, a lesser-known corner of the era's Brazilian jazz wave worth digging for.
