The record
Two dates deep, Dorham stacks a heavyweight frontline -- Mobley, Johnson, Payne -- over Patato Valdes's congas and a double-bass anchor from Pettiford and Heath, fusing hard bop with Latin rhythm ahead of the curve. A blueprint session for Afro-Cuban jazz on Blue Note, driven by Silver's percussive comping and Blakey's press-rolls.

Pressings
The earliest copy on file is the 1955 10-inch BLP 5065 in mono. The 12-inch BLP 1535 follows in 1957 carrying deep groove, RVG stamp, Plastylite ear and flat edge; a 1958 beaded-rim, no-frame variant shows the same four markers. From 1972 onward it is all reissue -- Japanese copies from 1983, a 200-gram Blue Note in 2009, and Music Matters twice: the 45 RPM MMBLP-1535 in 2010 and an SRX cut in 2019.
