Barely into his twenties and already leading Miles Davis's borrowed rhythm section, this alto saxophonist cuts a hard-bop date crackling with young confidence. Booker Little's trumpet adds a second sharp horn to a Vee Jay session that caught the Chicago label reaching for emerging talent.
