Richard Davis gets equal billing on this Impulse! session, his thick bass lines matched against the drummer's rolling attack while Frank Foster's tenor cuts through with real bite. Billy Greene's piano fills out a compact quartet with no wasted motion.

The earliest pressing on file here is the 1968 US Impulse stereo, AS-9160, in a gatefold. Mono shows up only as a 1968 promo, A-9160, so we cannot point you at a stock mono. The UK issue splits the two as SIPL 513 and MIPL 513. Later AS-9160 copies from 1970 through 1974 are repressings on ABC-era labels and stay cheap; the 2024 gatefold 180g reissue keeps the A-9160 number and is the current in-print one.
