The record
Soul-jazz grooves replace bebop's usual sprint here, Moody switching between flute, alto, and tenor while Longo's piano keeps the mood loose and conversational. Impulse! captures the trumpeter in a playful, funky mood, humor intact and horn still sharp.

Pressings
Almost everything on file is 1967. The earliest US pressing we list is the Impulse! mono A-9149; stereo AS-9149 came the same year, some copies in gatefold, alongside a mono promo, the UK MIPL 504 and SIPL 504 in laminated sleeves, a Canadian A 9149 S, and club editions MAS-91255 and SMAS-91255. Later reissues run to MCA-29036 in 1980 and a European mono in 2019.
