The record
Junior Mance's bluesy piano and Les Spann doubling on flute and guitar give this quintet date extra shading behind Gillespie's attack. The title winks at the showman in him, but Sam Jones and Lex Humphries lock the groove down tight enough to back the boast.

Pressings
The earliest we list is the 1959 US Verve MG V-8313 in mono, with the stereo MG VS-8313 out the same year; Verve renumbered the stereo to MG VS-68313 in 1960. A 1959 UK His Master's Voice CLP 1318 mono is the period import. An undated Italian MG V-8313 is the only copy on file showing a deep groove and a laminated sleeve. Japan followed much later with MV 2696 in 1980.
