The record
Scott LaFaro's bass, recorded here before his celebrated run with Evans, brings harmonic daring to a young Little's advancing postbop ideas. Roy Haynes and dual pianists Flanagan and Kelly round out a brief, dense session from a career soon cut short.

Pressings
The earliest we list is the 1960 US mono on Time, catalog 52011, in a gatefold; the stereo of the same year is S/2011 and Canada took T/52011. A further mono 52011 adds a deep groove to the gatefold. Japan reissued it repeatedly through the seventies and eighties, ULS-1753-BT in 1975 among them. The 2020 European Down at Dawn DAD150 is the straightforward current copy.
