The record

A working husband-and-wife front line straight out of the French Quarter, Billie's barrelhouse piano and blues-cracked vocals trading lines with De De's cornet over George Lewis's clarinet. Cut in 1966 for Preservation Hall's own label, it's traditional New Orleans jazz kept alive by the players who lived it, not revived by outsiders.
