The record
A teenage drummer's leader date that reads like a manifesto -- Williams stacks two and three basses at once against Hutcherson's vibes and Rivers' probing tenor, bending Blue Note's postbop language toward something freer. Barely out of his teens and already dictating terms to Hancock and company.
