The record
A compilation, and a crowded one -- Zoot Sims's tenor is the through line, but the cast around him takes in Gerry Mulligan's baritone, Georgie Auld on tenor, J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding on trombones, Howard McGhee and Al Porcino among four trumpets, Kenny Drew and Tony Aless at the pianos, with Chubby Jackson credited as leader. New Jazz NJ 8280, notes by Dan Morgenstern dated January 1963.
