The record
Cut in 1959 near the young Monterey Jazz Festival, this Omega side finds Gonsalves fronting a big band stocked with journeyman regional horns and Junior Mance sitting in on piano. A lesser-known entry, but a solid look at big-band life outside the New York circuit.
