Gene Harris has a way of making a standard sound like it is being worked out at the keyboard as you listen, and Stella By Starlight and The Nearness Of You get exactly that treatment. Andrew Simpkins and Bill Dowdy keep the trio light on its feet; Blue 'N Boogie is where they lean in. Alfred Lion produced, Reid Miles did the cover. Blue Note ST-84120.
