No piano, no net -- Garrison's bass and Jones's drums build the floor while Farrell switches between tenor, soprano, and flute overhead. Recorded for Blue Note in April 1968, three years past the Coltrane quartet's dissolution.

The earliest pressing on file here is a 1968 US Blue Note stereo, BST 84282, with the RVG stamp -- no mono issue appears anywhere in our data for this title. Germany got a parallel BST 84282 K the same year and Japan its own BST-84282. The serious modern cut is Music Matters' 2011 45rpm reissue, MMBST 84282; the 2021 and 2022 European 180g repressings of BST 84282 are the cheap way in.
