The record
Art Blakey at the drums and, in the credits, two bassists -- Curly Russell and Gene Ramey. Silver's attack is unmistakable: percussive, blues-first, more interested in rhythm than in decoration. Eight tracks on a 10-inch Blue Note from 1953, 'Ecaroh' and 'Quicksilver' among them, with 'Prelude To A Kiss' for contrast. Leonard Feather wrote the notes.
