Early-'70s European fusion from vibraphonist Dave Pike's German quartet, cutting grooves that split the difference between hard-bop vibes tradition and electric funk. Volker Kriegel's guitar work adds a wiry, rock-inflected edge to Pike's mallets, a snapshot of MPS's ear for genre-blurring dates.
