The record
Almeida's classical-trained guitar meets Getz's tenor here, the Brazilian rhythm men keeping the groove lithe instead of syrupy. A quieter cousin to the Jobim and Byrd dates, built on duo intimacy rather than hit-single polish.

Pressings
The earliest we list is 1963, mono V-8665 and stereo V6-8665 both from the US -- the stereo gatefold is the copy our data shows with a deep groove. Canada and New Zealand issued it the same year. UK copies appear from 1966 on VLP 9150 and SVLP 9150, and MGM recycled the album as LAT-10,009 in 1970. The current pressing is Verve's 2007 German 180 gram gatefold, back on V6-8665.
