RCA pairs the horn with string charts for once, a change from quartet intimacy that still keeps the restraint fully intact. Jim Hall's guitar threads quietly beneath the strings, evidence the mood travels well outside the usual quartet setting.

Everything early here is 1962 US RCA Victor: stereo LSP-2438 and mono LPM-2438, with the plant noted on several copies -- Indianapolis, Rockaway, Hollywood -- and one stereo listed with a deep groove. British copies, RD-7501 in mono and SF-7501 in stereo, come in laminated sleeves. For a modern pressing, Pure Pleasure did LSP-2438 in 2013 and Analog Spark AS00009 in 2016.
