The record
Named in a nod to "Take Five," this session finds Desmond and Jim Hall settling into their now-familiar rapport over a bossa-tinged rhythm section. Connie Kay and dual bassists Wright and Cherico keep things loose, letting the alto and guitar speak plainly.

Pressings
The earliest on file is a 1963 US RCA Victor LSP-2569 in stereo from the Rockaway plant; Hollywood and Indianapolis stampings of the same number are equally 1963, so plant is the main variable in a US copy. Mono went out as LPM-2569, and Britain used RD-7601 for mono and SF-7601 for stereo. The 1968 US reissue is a dynaflex. Modern cuts: Music On Vinyl MOVLP552 in 2012 and ORG Music ORGM-1095 in 2014.
