The record
A tightly-voiced Swedish big band session led by pianist-composer Nils Lindberg, with American expat Idrees Sulieman's trumpet threaded through a deep local horn section including Jan Allan and Eje Thelin. Recorded for Capitol in December 1962, it's a snapshot of the era's Scandinavian jazz scene reaching for its own compositional voice within the big-band idiom.
