The record
A big-band blowtorch cut live from Broadway's own jazz mecca, with Ferguson's screaming lead trumpet riding atop a young Joe Zawinul and a brass section stacked with future arrangers Slide Hampton and Don Sebesky. Roulette caught the band at full roar -- tight charts, hard swing, and a house crowd that clearly knew the difference.
