The record
A late-'57 date finding Smith deep in his Blue Note groove, with Burrell's clean-toned comping and a two-tenor front line of Turrentine and France stretching the blues out at length. Bailey's brushwork keeps things loose and after-hours, organ trio soul-jazz just before Turrentine became a leader in his own right.
