The record

Two trumpets and two bassists crowd this 1965 date, with Tolliver and Morgan trading sharp lines over McLean's alto while a young Jack DeJohnette stirs the rhythm loose. Shelved for years, it catches the band mid-transition, swinging hard but reaching outward.

We hold no original-era LP for this title. The earliest on file is a 1975 US Blue Note double, BN-LA457-H2, with an RVG stamp, alongside a European twofer numbered BST 84 485/86 XC. Blue Note issued a gatefold 180 gram edition in 2025 as 84223, still RVG-stamped, and a clear-vinyl Sowing Records pressing, SOW060, appeared the same year. Buy on condition, not on rarity.
