The record
Clark's harmonic sense grounds this '61 date while the alto pushes its lines further from hard bop's usual center. Turrentine answers with biting brass as Higgins and Warren hold the swing in place underneath.

Pressings
Both mono and stereo are on file from 1962. BLP 4089 mono is the earliest pressing listed here, but the stereo of the same year, BST 84089, is the row carrying the collector markers -- deep groove, RVG stamp and Plastylite ear. Blue Note repressed both in 1966, the mono still with a Plastylite ear, the stereo with the RVG stamp alone. Japanese reissues follow from 1977; Blue Note's 2009 stereo, BST-84089, is the easy copy.
