The record
Mulligan's early-60s big band venture, built on his own arrangements and Brookmeyer's, with Zoot Sims and Gene Quill trading lines over a swinging, brass-rich ensemble. A high point of Verve-era Mulligan, proof that his light, contrapuntal touch scaled up beautifully from quartet to full orchestra.
