The record
Session heavies like Purdie, Jemmott, and Gale replace Hubbard's usual hard-bop crew on this detour into funk and soul. His horn still cuts clean through the groove, proof the era's pull didn't blunt his edge.

Pressings
Everything early here is Atlantic SD 1526 from 1969, and the pressing plant is the only thing separating copies -- the earliest we list is a Terre Haute stereo pressing, with a Monarch stereo copy and Presswell and Terre Haute promos alongside it. An Italian ATS ST 05511 followed in 1970. For a clean playing copy, the 2001 SD 1526 reissue or Music On Vinyl's 2014 MOVLP1199 on 180 gram are the sensible buys.
