Cut in '66 with a doubled-bass lineup, this session finds the Basie tenor man stretching into greasy, groove-heavy Prestige soul-jazz territory. Butler's guitar and Rebillot's piano keep things funky while Foster's writing shows the same sharp arranger's ear he brought to the big band.
