The record
A choir on a Blue Note date, and not as decoration -- eleven singers, Elaine Beener and Joann Gale Stevens out front, carry as much of this music as the horns do. Two bassists and two drummers underneath, Russell Lyle on tenor and flute, and Gale on trumpet, steel drums and piano besides composing and conducting it. Blue Note BST 84294, 1968, produced by Francis Wolff.
