Miles Davis quietly runs this Blue Note date though the leader's credit reads Cannonball, framing his alto in some of the label's most unhurried ballad playing -- 'Autumn Leaves' alone justifies the wear on this sleeve. Cut the same year as Milestones, pairing a Prestige-bound trumpeter with a Blue Note roster for one afternoon only.

Stereo turns up as 1595 in 1959 with the same markers plus a laminated sleeve. The 47 W 63rd address keeps appearing through 1962, so it will not pin a date on its own -- check the ear too.
