The record
The drummer is the leader here, and instead of the usual horn pairing he hires two tenor saxophonists, Sam Rivers and Wayne Shorter, who pull in noticeably different directions. Gary Peacock's bass moves free of any walking obligation and Herbie Hancock takes the piano chair. Five tracks, Alfred Lion producing, Blue Note BST 84216 in stereo.
